Syros is the capital of the Cyclades islands. The main town of Syros “Ermoupolis” is one of the most architecturally fascinating ports in the Mediterranean. It distinguishes for its Medieval architecture, the imposing churches and the impressive Neoclassical buildings.

Ermoupolis as one of the most cosmopolitan towns in the Greek islands offers a wide variety of cafes, restaurants that are open all day long and plenty of bars where you can enjoy your drinks before or after midnight! Don’t forget to taste the local and unique “Loukoumia”! “Loukoumia” is a sweet, gummy, sugar-powdered, nut-filled candy sold from stores all over the town of Ermoupolis!
In addition, in Ermoupolis you can find the only casino in Cyclades!

Galissas Beach
Galissas reputation as one of the best beaches on Syros island, is true! A wonderful, long and sandy beach awarded with a blue flag which assures the cleanliness of its waters! There are lots of trees to relax under their shadow if you wish to leave your boat for a little while and some traditional restaurants and tavernas nearby if you want to taste some fresh fish!
Be careful approaching the shore especially with a sailing boat! The water is shallow enough!

Agathopes Beach

Agathopes Beach is very similar to Galissas with a sandy seashore and very shallow clear waters. It is located in the southwestern part of the island and it is fully organized. What makes Agathopes beach unique is the narrow strip of land that goes into the sea and the cape “Viglostasi” with the lighthouse on the edge of the bay! The lucky ones that will visit the beach in the spring, might be lucky to meet Monachus – Monachus seals that choose the soft and sandy seashore of Agathopes beach to lay their eggs!

Delfini Beach
Delfini used to be a “secret” beach that it was hard to reach by someone that didn’t know the exact location! The “Secret” has been revealed now and the beach has become quite popular. However, it keeps its quiet, peaceful and traditional character! Delfini is a mix of sand, rocks and clear blue waters and a great place on the island to enjoy the sunset!
